In a Modified Jamboree Double Header played at Bulldog Field, in Luray, VA, the Vienna Senators topped the Woodstock River Bandits 4-2 (5inn) and dropped the second contest 5-2 (5 inn) to the host team Luray Waranglers.
The opponents from yesterdays games are from the neighboring College Wood Bat Summer League known as the Valley League. The games were played clean with very few errors and solid pitching was the storyline throughout the afternoon.
Billy Tinsley pitched four solid innings for the Senators in the first game. Surrendering his only runs in the 4th inning, giving up a 2 out, 2 run homerun blasted to left centerfield.
In the second game Mason Griffin went 4 innings and looked sharp, Mason was let down by his defense and his line finalized at 4 innings pitched, 5 R, 2 ER and 3 K. Kyle Kretchmer pitched the 5th inning and allowed no runs while strucking out 2.
The next action for the Senators
will be opening night Friday, June 1st @ 8:00 pm at Waters field against
the McLean Raiders.
