7/31/07 - Vienna ends the season leading the Clark
Griffith League in Hitting (Batting Avg.), Pitching (ERA) and Fielding Percentage.
The Senators led the league in pitching and hitting in 2005 and 2006. The
Senators batters had a team average of .313 and slugged 40 home runs and
notched 452 hits. The Senators pitchers had a 2.22 ERA with six shutouts
and 377 total strikeouts. Pitchers also only allowed 277 hits and 104 walks.

the nation on July 17 and moved up to the number 11 spot on July 22. Last
season the Vienna Senators were ranked 14 th in the PG Crosschecker Summer

coach
7/26/07 - Coach Harry Marshall “Jake” Jacobs was
as much a part of Washington area baseball as a bat or glove. His leadership
and passion for the game was as an essential part of Clark C. Griffith Collegiate
League play. One of his key abilities as a coach was recognizing fundamentals
and helping athletes learn them. One of his favorite teaching tools was
telling anecdotes of past players. His passion for the game made him very
competitive and willing to fight for the win in every game. Players remember
him for his hustle out to the coach's box on the field and for encouraging
them to play with fire.

Senators Outfielder Xavier Qualls Named Week 7 Player of the Week
7/24/07 - Last season's Clark Griffith League Most Valuable Player
returned mid-season to the Senators to help them on their quest for an unprecedented
ninth league championship and a second consecutive trip to the National
Baseball Congress World Series. In 2006 with the Senators, Qualls batted
.340 in 40 games with five home runs and 31 RBIs. In his second season with
the Senators, Qualls has proven to be a key athlete as well. In 11 games
with the Senators, he's batted .464 and totaled nine RBI. Read

7/22/07 - The Senators are ranked 11 th in the PG Crosschecker Summer 16
Rankings, which ranks all summer league teams from the major collegiate
summer circuits from across the country. The PG Crosschecker credits first
baseman Sam Honeck and southpaw pitcher Aaron Loup with helping the Senators
to the best record in summer ball this season. The Senators are currently

him to team honor
7/18/07 - Newman has helped lift the Senators to first place in the
Clark Griffith League and to a national ranking by PG Crosschecker. He has
won League Pitcher of the Week twice this season. Now 5-0 on the season
and leading the league in strikeouts with 61 and innings pitched with 50,
Newman's proved to be among the top pitchers in the league. His 1.98 ERA

year Vienna finished 14th in the rankings of all college summer league teams
from all the major collegiate summer circuits across the country, the highest

Senators Bobby Hastry and Daniel Burton Sign Big League Contracts
7/9/07 -- Daniel Burton played four years at the University of Louisville.
Burton hit .294 with five home runs and 28 RBIs as a freshman in 2004. Burton
was named to the Conference USA all-freshman team and a Freshman All-American.
Burton was named seventh best pro prospect by Baseball America after hitting
.305-6-37 in the Clark C. Griffith Collegiate Baseball League that summer.

HONECK STANDS OUT IN FIFTH WEEK OF SEASON - Senators
1B tapped team Player of the Week
7/8/07 - Since July 1, the Senators have gone
4-1, and Honeck was a huge part of those victories. On July 2 against the
DC Grays, Honeck hit a home run to help the Senators to victory. The left-handed
hitter's best game of the week came on July 3, when he went 3-for-5 and
collected two RBI. He hit his sixth home run of the season against the Blue

6/30/07 - VIENNA, Va. -- The All-Star Game, which began at 7 p.m. at Waters
Field in Vienna , Va. ended with a 10-2 victory for the Clark Griffith League
All-Stars. About 500 fans came to see the contest and were not denied a
great game. The Clark Griffith League All-Star pitchers combined for a total
of five hits and seven strikeouts, while the batters compiled 15 hits. Read

Ryan
Belanger has agreed to terms on a free agent deal with the Kansas City
Royals, on Wednesday, and will report to Arizona on Friday to begin his
professional career. Belanger Finished 8-4 with a 2.54 ERA this past season
and struck out 86 batters.

stuff is that good. "He has a real good arm," manager Jerry Narron
